Bernie Mac was hospitalized with pneumonia on August 1, 2008, and the following day, a source close
to the family said Mac was in "very, very critical" condition. He was recovering from
pneumonia, most likely brought on by his sarcoidosis, in a Chicago hospital. His publicist, Danica
Smith, said he was expected to make a full recovery, and he was responding well to treatment.
On August 9, 2008 the Chicago Sun-Times reported Bernie Mac had died.....
Bernie..... RIP, u will be so dearly missed by thousands of people across the world. Ur life has
been one that has touched many other lives. I was watching u only this morning on Kings of Comedy,
the day of ya death and I am totally gobsmacked cos over the last two weeks, I have watched ya every
day even if its just a lil clip and u always bring tears of joy but now its tears of sadness.
I hope u are free from any pain you may have experienced and I send my prayers to ur family, i hope
u hook up wiv my beatiful lil sis Eden she was taken so tragically too, another beautiful life taken
so sudden.

Remember the first video i saw you in was kid n play house party, the last one i saw you in was kings of comedy. Cant believe your gone rip homie and i am looking forward to seeing you in your last film with Isaac Hayes. Rip bernie, gonna miss you xxxx
